Deerwood is a small city located in Crow Wing County. It is situated adjacent to the south shore of Serpent Lake. It was platted in 1892 and named for the abundant deer in the nearby woods. The community is known for its friendly atmosphere and hosts various events throughout the year.

From Deerwood you can access Cuyuna Country State Recreation Area. There are unique teal-colored mine pit lakes, remnants of its mining history. This area mountain bike trails are world class.
