Baxter Homes

Baxter is a city located in Crow Wing County, just west of Brainerd. It's part of the Brainerd Lakes Area, known for its scenic beauty and outdoor recreational opportunities. Baxter has many parks and recreation trails as well as Northland Arboretum. It is also surrounded by lakes and ponds, making it a great spot for fishing, boating, and enjoying nature.

The city was incorporated in 1939 and named after Luther Baxter, an attorney for the Northern Pacific Railroad and a Civil War colonel. Historically, Baxter was home to a large railroad tie-treating plant, which contributed to its early development. Today, tourism and service industries are major contributors to the local economy.

Baxter is also known for its commercial development along Minnesota Highway 371, offering shopping, dining, and entertainment options. The city has a mix of residential neighborhoods and natural areas, making it a pleasant place to live or visit.
